Overview
Gefinor Ventures is a private equity firm based in New York. We invest in growth companies providing either equity capital and/or mezzanine (debt) financing depending on the circumstances. Our investment team has over 85 years of experience identifying investment opportunities in the U.S. middle market, operating successful companies, investment banking, and private equity investing. We have capital under management through several funds, including two Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) funds.

Investment Focus
Gefinor Ventures focuses on investments in growth companies with innovative products and services that are based on new technologies, business models, distribution systems or other disruptive elements. Our investment focus is as follows:

  • Early, Mid and Late Stage Companies - we invest in early, mid and late stage companies that are seeking Series A, B, or C rounds of equity financing.  If a company has demonstrated the ability to service debt, we will provide mezzanine financing in the form of equity linked debt investments. Typical investment sizes range from $1-$2 Million for an initial investment, and up to $3-$4 Million for subsequent rounds. We prefer to lead or participate alongside other private equity funds.
  • Sector Focus - the Principals of Gefinor Ventures have experience investing in multiple industry sectors which include Financial Services, Telecommunications, Semiconductors, Software & Services, Medical & Health/Fitness, Manufacturing, and Consumer Products. These sectors may evolve over time to reflect new opportunities and the growth of new technologies and business sectors.
  • Geographic Focus - we focus on investment opportunities throughout the U.S. with opportunities requiring closer supervision limited to the Northeast.

We have over 85 years combined experience and have successfully managed investments in 27 companies over a 15-year period.
  • Gefinor Ventures Network - we have an extensive network of Angel investors, VCs, large corporations, financial institutions, educational institutions, research consortia, and governmental bodies who can assist our companies.
  • Mentoring and Support - our fundamental philosophy is that we are the company's partners and our goal is to work closely with portfolio companies to provide mentoring and operational, management and strategic support. We can also assist in recruiting, raising capital for follow-on financing rounds, and provide access to key experts (e.g., experienced board members, professional services firms and investment bankers).
